Against my wishes, laid awake all night.
Tried to sleep but couldn’t shake the fright.
Turned over and prayed with all my might,
Hoping that everything would turn out right.
Thinking deeply about the previous day’s plight.
Planning and strategizing hopefully with great foresight.
Having only a very deep wish for the end in sight.
Slowly but surely I lost to sleep, the fight.
My eyes fluttered open at the first rays of sunlight.
Had to shield the precious orbs, for it was so bright.
Got up with gusto, God had given me an insight.
Dressed and downed some coffee, prepared for any fight.
Stepped out in grand style, my fears had taken flight!
